Mrs Abimbola Folashade Akinwunmi, a Lagosians and also a princess in Lagos.
Mrs. Akinyemi is a professional married counselor, as a counselor she encourage women to be better people in their homes.
In her interview with The Eye News, she said, “A woman’s life can’t be just limited to being a wife. You can still achieve much more; you can as well be a professional. Also, you can thrive in your career, in your business while still playing your role as a wife and as a mother in the home.”
Question: You gave a wonderful speech that has to do with life behind the scenes in every woman’s life. What advice do you have for young girls coming up to be women?

Answer: “Yes, it is very easy seemingly to get a husband, but keeping the husband has become an issue. I would like to give this counsel that the same way you improve in your career, get better at it”. “You do research, you go for studies; it should also be the same way you’re supposed to keep improving in your marriage”. “You need to keep doing things, you know it’s hard work, the same hard work you’re doing to get better at what you’re doing” . “You know as a career person, it’s the same thing you’re expected to do in your marriage”.
“Keep working on it, get better, get a better understanding, improve on it and make up your mind that whatever it takes, this marriage will work. When you have peace in the home, you’re about to have peace in the whole of the community and invariably, the whole nation”.
“So, I’m an advocate of women playing their role and then working on their marriage to ensure that it works no matter what comes their way. Except if it’s life-threatening, we always say that professionally, if it’s not life-threatening, then you can still make it work.”
