HON. OKEY-JOE EXPRESSING CONCERN ON THE DELAY IN CONSTRUCTION OF MUSHIN-NNPC-EJIGBO ROAD PROJECT

Hon. (Barr.) Jesse Okey-Joe Onuakalusi, Hon Jesse Okey-Joe Onuakalusi Member of the House Committee on Works and FERMA, representing Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency II, Lagos, wishes to express concerns regarding the slow pace of construction on the Mushin-NNPC-Ejigbo road in Lagos State. This project, which Hon. Okey-Joe is facilitating despite having been reportedly neglected by his predecessor, and which began in 2023, has seen Phase One from Iyana-Isolo to Pako bus stop completed. However, Phase Two from Pako bus stop to Jakande Gate is progressing slowly.

While efforts seem to be ongoing, the progress of Phase Two of the project is uncertain, and there are serious doubts about its completion within the initially stipulated timeframe. The current state of Phase Two suggests a lack of substantial advancement.

As a member committed to ensuring the timely delivery of critical infrastructure projects, Hon. Okey-Joe respectfully calls upon the Honourable Minister of Works to expedite action on Phase Two of the Mushin-NNPC-Ejigbo road construction project before the end of this year. It is imperative that all necessary measures are taken to ensure the project’s completion in a timely manner.

A prompt response is awaited regarding the steps to be taken to address the concerns highlighted in this press release.

Sincerely,
Hon. (Barr.) Jesse Okey-Joe Onuakalusi
MHR, Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II
Member, House Committee on Works and FERMA
